MEET THE PROS
Ashley Rhoney, Director of Tennis and Aquatics
Born and raised in hickory, North Carolina . He was the North Carolina junior state champion for five consecutive years 1980-1984. In 1984 won the national Interscholastic Championship and was voted an All American at South Caldwell High School in Hudson , NC . Also in 1984 was invited to the 1984 United States Olympic tryouts. 1987-1988 was a two time All American at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette . Held the No.1 national ranking in doubles during the 1988 season. Won the Surfmarc national singles title in 1986. Played professionally and held both singles and doubles world rankings during that time.
Became the Head Professional at Red Lerelle's health club from 1990-1997. Ashley's focus at that time was junior development and has coached over 20 state champions and has helped many get scholarships to some of the best schools in the nation.
Coached Chanda Rubin for seven years and toured with her for two and a half years.
Ashley is one of the few professionals who has played, coached and ran events on the professional level.
Ashley has been at the City Club at River Ranch since its inception in the summer of 2001.

 Gus Rezende, Tennis Pro/Assistant Marketing Director
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1980. Top national junior tennis player for over 6 yrs. During his junior career Gus had accumulated over 60 titles nationally and internationally. Two time national champion. Gus has won over 2 Top 100 ATP players.
Moved to USA in 1999 to defend Georgia Southwestern State University Tennis Team. During his 4 yrs in Georgia Gus reached National Runner-Up and 2 time National Semi Finalist; Gus was named All-American twice, and NAIA Singles and Doubles Top 10 National Ranking. In May of 2004, Gus earned a degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing.
With a 10 year teaching experience Gus has worked in prestigious clubs in Sao Paulo, Georgia, New York, and The Hamptons. His first experience at the City Club at River Ranch took place in the summer of 2002 where Gus helped organize City Club's first Summer Camp. Since then Gus has worked the following two summers at the city Club. Moved to Lafayette in early 2004 where presently he is a full time Tennis Pro and Event Marketing planner. For the past 3 yrs Gus has organized a vast amount of Social Tennis related activities. In addition to Tournaments for all levels and ages. For 3 yrs in a row Gus has directed the Men's Pro Invitational with great success. Over $15k in prize money to many very talented Tennis Professionals, and great support from members and the Lafayette Community.
 Cason Mays, Tennis Pro
Born in Monroe Louisiana where he began his career. Cason was ranked #1 as a Junior player in Louisiana for two years. He was also a top Southern ranked Junior throughout career and nationally ranked for four years.
Cason represented the STA in National Zonal events for 2 years and was the Louisiana state 5-A Champion in 2000. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette was his collegiate choice where he played for two years, both years finishing in the top 35 of NCAA play. Cason graduated in Insurance and Risk Management.
Cason has been a City Club pro since 2004 training our Junior programs and adding to the City Club top notch program.
 Aldrin Campos, Tennis Pro
During his playing career, Aldrin was ranked the #1 Junior player in Mexico. He placed first in singles and doubles play at Tennessee Tech University where he tied for the most allptime combined career wins. Aldrin continued by playing sattellite and pro events throughout the United States.
Aldrin's coaching expertise started at the University of Kentucky where he was a volunteer coach leading the team to an 11th rankied national title and he was the Summer Camp Director. From there, he was the Assistant Coach for Tennessee Tech University until being named Head Men's & Women's Coach there. Aldrin lead the team to Men's conference champions in 200, 2003 and 2004. He had many NCAA tournament participants, ranked both teams nationally and recruited and coached several conference players of the year. Before joining the City Club team in 2008, he was the Head Men's Coach at Lamar University where he coached three all conference players and achieved the school's highest finish in the schools 15 year history.
