We are pleased to introduce City Club Grill and Bar, your casually elegant member restaurant offering the perfect blend of comfort classics, healthy fare, and City Club traditions. Step into the Southern hospitality of City Club Grill and Bar overlooking the Town Square and experience abundant, satisfying food uniting artistry, taste, and wholesome ingredients that appeals to all palates. South Louisiana is a region where flavorful foods are readily available in restaurants at every corner, not to mention that many of you are skilled in the culinary art of preparing your family favorites in the coziness of your own home. We feel the challenge for City Club, then, is to design a concept with a culinary twist that you will not be able to experience anywhere else in the Acadiana region. Chef Pat Mould’s perceptive understanding of these dynamics has resulted in a concept that embraces the following core objectives:
Offering locally produced sustainable ingredients prepared in a creative fashion.
Changing the menu seasonally to continuously tempt your taste buds.
Offer enough variety to accommodate diverse food preferences.
Provide options for the entire family, business needs, and special occasions.
Ensure paramount levels of personalized service from James Lawrence and his team of dining professionals.
Upcoming promotions include:
Tuesday Nights: Family Night
Wednesday Nights: Martini Madness!
Happy Hour/Drink Specials
Regularly scheduled themed events, lunch and learns, and clubs within the club!

Mary Beth Langlinais General Manager 216-6502 mlanglinais@cityclubatriverranch.com November 2, 2008 It’s never too late – or too early – to take charge of your health so that you can enjoy life to its fullest. At City Club at River Ranch, you can become more aware of how exercise, nutrition, relaxation, and engaging social experiences connect to how your body and brain perform. Our goal is to assist you in maintaining a balance in life through the choices you make every day. What are some plans, habits, or routines you can implement that will help you reach your optimal health and performance? How can you balance work and leisure? How can you correct imbalances that have manifested over time? John Keats, poet of the English Romantic movement, writes Give me books, nourishing food, French wine, and fine weather with a little music outdoors played by someone I don’t know. City Club at River Ranch would be a place Mr. Keats would enjoy, I believe. From enjoying an array of fine wines at the Wine Connoisseur’s events, to listening to great music at Rhythms on the River, or choosing nutritious options at Sunday Brunch, we have plenty of opportunities for balancing wellbeing and pleasure. In 2009, you can anticipate a variety of new Health and Vitality programs as summarized below:
Expanded healthy menu options in the Oasis – Great salads, grilled lean proteins, wraps, burgers, and more within a casual seating area in the fitness center. Plan to visit after your tennis game, workout, or with business associates.
Nutrition services including whole food cooking demonstrations, nutritionally appropriate meals for sale to take home (prepared by our chefs and designed by our dietitian), weight loss and diabetes management classes, nutrition and aging well symposiums, and more.
A Votre Sante’ presentations, acupuncture, and naturopathic consultations with Dr. Bridgett Simon in Riverspa.
Wine Connoisseur’s Club, light selections at Sunday Brunch, and Chef meets Dietitian for nutritional calculations of our selected menu items.
The professionals in the fitness center are always researching trends in the industry to ensure you can participate in the most popular and effective programs and services. Bosu ball classes are on the way, new strength training and cardio equipment are on order, and an invitation for a complimentary 30 minute Pilates session on the equipment is extended to members. Read more about ski camp, Zumba, XOW, or Small Group Training in this newsletter!
I invite you to explore the many possibilities that we offer to add excellence and satisfaction to your life. If you have any ideas or insights, do not hesitate to share.
September/October 2008 Great customer service is only delivered by passionate, caring employees. We take pride in our team because we understand that other organizations may be able to match our price or offer similar services, but they cannot replicate the spirit and attitude of our staff. City Club has four WIGs, or Wildly Important Goals, that we infuse into our Corporate University employee customer service training. They are summarized as follows:
Providing Professional Service. This includes the personal appearance and attitude of our staff in the perception of our members and guests.
Offering Personalized Service. Anticipating the needs and expectations of you, our members, by knowing your names, your favorite retail items, your signature cocktails, or your favorite workout classes.
Being Empowered. Our organizational culture is to give every employee the tools he/she needs to handle a request, problem, or difficult situation in a timely and appropriate manner.
Embracing Information. As portrayed in this newsletter, we offer many programs and events ranging from tennis tournaments to Carriage House Suites member preferred rates to Riverspa member specials, etc. We aspire to educate our employees so they can better serve you.
What makes City Club truly spectacular is that no two members are exactly alike. We don’t assume that everyone wants the same amenities, so the best way to find out is to ask you. We speak with many of you on a daily basis and have implemented services and programs based on our conversations. Examples include offering more variety of food items in our Member Social Night. So, in addition to the Lobster Night theme, we now provide Prime Rib-eye, Tuna, Seafood, and more.
An overwhelming number of you also want more activities for your children, thus we have accordingly enhanced our youth programs, including age appropriate dining opportunities and more interactive activities in the Fun Zone and Kids’ Club. We will not say Wow, we love complaints, but as ironic as it might seem, we welcome your feedback, including complaints, for that is how we will provide consistent and excellent service. If you should observe an employee exceeding the desired service standards depicted in the WIGS summarized above, or if you have a comment or complaint, please communicate with me in person, by phone, or via email. I ensure you that your observations are valued and action will be taken.
