Youth Programs

With all the services and amenities we offer, by far one of our most rewarding is the focus we place on families with children. From health and fitness to kid friendly dining to special events, our Members know their children will always be taken care of.

City Club offers you an extensive list of Youth targeted training and programs. For summers and holidays we offer sports, tennis and fitness programs. We also offer strength & conditioning training, cardiovascular training, and obesity counseling/training.

  • Youth Fitness




    • City Club at River Ranch in Lafayette, Louisiana offers Members with children many benefits. Our different programs are designed to give children a head start in developing a positive attitude towards health, fitness, and overall well-being.

      • Tween Fit Series: This class strives to increase the total health and fitness levels in a fun, motivating environment by utilizing obstacle courses, fitness games, partner activities, body weight exercises, circuits and more. The mission is to instill a love of fitness at an early age that will last a lifetime.  Offered Mondays & Thursdays from 4:15-5:15 PM for ages 7-12 in the Group Exercise Room.
      • Kidzpower: A unique children's fitness program conducted in the Kid's Club gym at the City Club for children. It is taught by dynamic instructors with age appropriate equipment, music and motivation/education every step of the way! Cardio, strength training, yoga, Pilates, obstacle course and lots of other fun!  Offered Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:15-6:00 PM in the Kids Club for ages 7-12.
      • FitKids: Incorporates fun-filled fitness experiences using props & music.  Offered Mondays & Thursdays from 4:30-5:15 PM in the Kids Club for ages 4-7.
      • Games & Beyond: Choose to play Wii Games, Various Board Games and Arcade Basketball. This is a free offering for all children on your Membership.

      Kidzpower Policies:

      In order to provide a safe environment for your child, the following policies have been implemented:
      Membership: All children must be registered City Club Members.

      Food and Drink: No food and only closed water bottles are allowed in the youth fitness center.

      Registration: A Master Chart must be completed by the participant's parent or guardian before initiating the program and will be obtained on file. All emergency and parent contact information must be complete and current. City Club is not responsible for children after class dismissal.

      Guests: All Guests must be accompanied by a Member and general guest policies apply.  Guest Fees Apply.

      Attire: Proper workout clothing is required; Participants must wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothing that allows for movement. Shirts are required and no cut-offs are allowed.

      Reservations: Reservations are recommended. Our youth fitness center is designed for a maximum of 20 participants and members are accepted on a first come first serve basis.

      Gym Etiquette: All workout equipment must be returned to its proper place after each use.

      We kindly ask that participants do not enter classes more than five minutes past the starting time. This will prevent injuries that may be caused by failure to warm-up and will promote class continuity.


  • Youth Tennis

      We offer a Junior Tennis Membership, which allows children ages 10 - 17 to join City Club allowing access to the tennis facilities only.  Call Membership for full details and pricing at 337.216.6562.


      Classes and clinics are an additional fee. 


  • Youth Swimming


    • Swimming Lessons

      SELA Aquatics will be handling the registration and teaching of swim lessons, for ages 3 and above, this summer.  Registration, scheduling and payment of lessons will be done via their website www.selaaquatics.com.    Registration begins April 1st.  We look forward to partnering with SELA Aquatics in providing swim lessons to our Members!


      Poolside Birthday Parties

      Whether your celebrating a birthday, or simply entertaining a group of kids, you'll want to dive into a fun pool party in the summer! Let our party planners help your party celebration make a big splash! We have special kids’ menus and a perfect party pad poolside. We’ll prepare the food and all you have to do is bring the cake or we can certainly order a cake and have it delivered in time for the party.   • Funzone/Nursery




    • The City Club at River Ranch childcare center provides quality care for your children ages 6 weeks to 9 years old while you enjoy the Club facilities. Although the state of Louisiana does not require us to carry a license, we do follow guidelines that are regulated by the Department of Human Services. In our care, emphasis is placed on safety, having fun, and creativity. The childcare center coordinator has a degree in childcare education and all employees are CPR certified. 

      Hours of Operation

      Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 7:00pm
      Friday, 7:30am - 1:00pm
      Saturday, 8:00am - 1:00pm



      FunZone Policies and Rules:

      • Frequent user program - 10th visit is free!
      • Please provide necessary diapers, pull-ups, and wipes. Clearly label all bags, bottles, and pacifiers.
      • Please make arrangements to feed your child before visiting the childcare. Our staff will only be able to distribute the regularly scheduled snack.
      • No outside food except infant formula shall be allowed into the childcare area. 
      • NO PEANUT PRODUCTS will be present in the childcare area and your child's medical history card shall be pulled upon each arrival to alert us of any food allergy.
        Dangerous toys such as balloons, sharp objects, or small toys are not allowed.
      • Registration: A Master Chart must be completed by the participant's parent or guardian as to who is allowed to pick up your child and will be obtained on file. All emergency and parent contact information must be complete and current. 



      Mode of discipline utilized is as follows:

      • Verbal warning with explanation of desired behavior
      • Time out
      • Parent contact (only if child is continuously disruptive or causing harm to others.)
      • All children must be in good health. Please do not bring your child with a cloudy, runny nose, a congested cough, a temperature, head lice or diarrhea.
